Yakubu Mohamed Earn Kotoko 3pts From The Spot After Missing Three Penalties

A thrilling encounter of the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and CARA saw five penalties awarded. Four of which went in favor of Pocupine Warriors and one for CARA.

Saddick Adams took the first penalty but failed to convert for Kotoko in the sixth minute. Captain Amos Frimpong also failed on a second attempt after Kwame Boahene was brought down the hour mark.

Referee Issa Sy awarded the Pocupine Warriors a third on the 70th minute but Baba Mahama had that saved. CARA on The other hand had a chance to gain advantage when goalie Chansel Massa took the penalty but Felix Annan denied him with a brilliant save.

Yakubu Mohammed converted the fifth and final penalty of the game and gave the anxious fans a cause to celebrate.

Head Coach of Kotoko has cautioned his players of the tough task ahead in the return leg looking at the physical nature of the game of their opponents.

Head of communications for Kotoko, Obed Achempong was thankful to the fans for their unmatched support. The fans by the way are not satisfied with the one goal win.

Kotoko travel to Brazzaville for the return leg on 21st February.
