2018 SONA: COPEC disappointed President did not touch on fuel price increase

The Executive Secretary of Chamber of Petroleum Consumers-Ghana (COPEC), Duncan Amoah has expressed surprise at President Akufo-Addo`s failure to speak on the fuel price hikes in his State of the Nation Address (SONA).  

He said despite the demonstration by the group yesterday (Feb. 7), the President said nothing about fuel and this is disturbing to Ghanaians.  

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Mr. Amoah said COPEC is giving the government the benefit of the doubt, hoping that the President is looking into the matter to come out with a solution on fuel prices within the next two weeks. 

Failure to do this, he said, would result in a much heightened demonstration.
