We Are Not Happy About Continuous Rise In Petroleum Taxes - COPEC The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers-Ghana (COPEC) together with some Transportation Union has expressed unhappiness about the continuous increment of fuel taxes as they demonstrate on the streets of Accra. COPEC is calling on government to reduce fuel prices and also reduce taxes especially the Special Petroleum Taxes (SPT) Some members of COPEC took to the streets of Accra to demonstrate on the streets of Accra on Wednesday morning to demand reduction in petroleum products. About 60 people took part in the demonstration, the turnout even though not impressive but was successful. They carried placards which reads “KLLER THE KILLER TAXES” “NANA ADAADAA YEN” “88% TAXES IS TOO MUCH” “STOP THE EXCUSES REDUCE THE TAXES” According to the demonstrators they will continue to demonstrate until government resolves the issue on fuel taxes. They have decided to petition Parliament, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of transport and he Flagstaff house (the Presidency). The Demonstrators cried out “we know the Government needs money but we also need money.
