Bolgatanga Secret Heart Parish Climaxes Education Week Catholic Education week is set aside every year to celebrate the holistic education of the catholic church. It is a week reserve for all students, teachers and stakeholders to have various themes discussed and celebrated for an improved Catholic education. The Catholic Education Week Celebration of the Secret Heart Parish of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Dioceses has ended with call on teachers to be discipline and punctual. It was under the the theme "Catholic Education: "Opening and creating opportunities for the Educ-and" the week-long celebration was characterized by a lot of activities amidst academic work. Speaking to Radio Ghana on the theme the chairman for the occasion, a retired educationists who doubled as guest speaker Mr. Jesse Joseph Panin indicated that the transformation of society lies mainly in the hands of the teacher and time plays a crucial role in this transformation. He quoted Right Reverent Dr. Kobbina Boafo of the Methodist Church as saying "Education brings about transformed action, wherever there is knowledge, there is improveme nt and integrity level rise particularly when that education is coming from the Church". Mr. Panin said, discipline and pumtuality are the hall marks of the Catholic church, as Catholic teachers, the future of the children lies on them to determine which way they intend to mold them for the church and the nation at large. He further explained that the purpose of education is to replace an empty mine with an open one according to Malcolm Topps and challenged teachers to decide as role models the kind of mine the they will put into the children as future leaders of this country. On the issue of government returning mission schools, the newly appointed local Manager of Catholic Education Rev Father Joseph Tabaseh said despite mission schools existed long before the government intervention, it is a partnership that has to go through some processes to arrive at. In an address read on her behalf the Regional Manager of Catholic Education Rev. Sister Bernadine Pemii was grateful to the numerous Catholic teachers who put up their best in reaching their pupils and students.
