Parties to the Bamako Convention have at the end of  a three day meeting adopted a set of decisions. This include using the AU standard for members to pay their contributions, setting up a secretariat with Mali as the headquarters and strengthening synergies of the Convention with other environmental conventions, particularly the Basel Convention.They also committed to a pollution -free Africa as was adopted at the U.N. Environment Assembly last December.
