Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts to benefit from 50 million dollar grant from World Bank

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts is to be supported with a 50 million dollar grant from the World Bank this year to undertake some important tourism related programmes. 

The grant will also strengthen the Ministry's capacity to tackle sanitation and commercialisation of beaches in the country. Ace highlife musician and Tourism ambassador ''Daddy Lumba'' is expected to champion the beach sanitation programme. 

Sector Minister Catherine Afeku said micro and small scale enterprises in the sector will also benefit from the grant with more emphasis on women. Madam Afeku outlined projects earmarked for this year to be undertaken from its national budget.
