Fire Service to go Hi-Tech in controlling bushfires The Ghana National Fire Service is putting in place some technological measures to help control bush fire in the country. It is currently in discussions with the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UNER) to link up a Platform at the Fire Service with the Advance Fire Information System (AFIS) of the University to achieve Real Time Fire Monitoring, Detection and Alerting through satellite. This was announced by the Acting Chief Fire Officer, Edwin Ekow Blankson, at a durbar to launch the National Bushfire Prevention Campaign at Mpreaso in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region.
