Foundation for Generational Thinkers organises Life Empowerment Summit for Ebenezer SHS 

The Guidance and Counseling Departments in schools play a critical role in the holistic development of students. However, a lot of schools in the country lack such departments. 

A life empowerment coach, Prosper Afetsi has therefore called on government to establish more of such departments as well as train and equip the personnel with the requisite skills to handle the existing ones. 

He said this will go a long way to complement academic studies and also help students to leave positive footprints after school. 

Mr. Afetsi was speaking at a Life Empowerment Summit and the launch of a website for the Ebenezer Senior High School in Accra. 

The students of the Ebenezer Senior High School through the support of the Foundation for Generational Thinkers were taken through life-changing lessons aimed at making them leave positive legacies.  

Addressing the students, a Life Empowerment Coach who is also the President of the Foundation, Prosper Afetsi said a major challenge for students to develop positive attitudes the lack of Guidance and Counselling departments and limited professionals in schools.

Apart from the fact that most schools do not have the Guidance and Counselling departments, the few that have are not well resourced with the right professionals to handle them.

He called on the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education to as a matter of urgency to establish more Guidance and Counseling departments to shape the lives of students beyond academics.

A website for the school was also launched .It was sponsored by the Foundation for Generational Thinkers in collaboration with Zotlax Technologies Limited. 

The Boys Prefect of the School, Samuel Offei told GBCONLINE that the initiatives by Foundation for Generational Thinkers especially the Life Empowerment Summit is a wake-up call for them to live lives worthy of emulation because whatever they do today will affect future generations.

The Senior Girls Prefect, Freda Konuah said the website will go a long way to project their school thereby making their challenges known to the world for old students and organizations to come and support the school.

The Headmistress, Madam Elizabeth Addo commended the Foundation for Generational Thinkers and urged the students to take advantage of such programs to prepare them for challenges after school.
