Commission of Inquiry into creation of new Regions begins Today

The Commission of Inquiry set up to solicit views of petitioners and residents on the creation of new regions will commence sitting today. 

Six petitioners calling for the creation of the new regions are expected to appear before the commission to make their case. 

The Minister for Regional Reorganisation and Development, Dan Botwe who announced this at a media briefing in Accra said the exercise will begin with separate meetings with the six petitioners at the Osu Castle, Accra.

The Commission, he indicated, will receive petitioners from the Western Region at 10am today followed by that of Volta Region tomorrow.
 
According to the Minister, petitioners from Brong-Ahafo will also appear before the Commission on Thursday November 23 and that of the Northern Region on November 29.

The meetings are to provide the petitioners an opportunity to prove their demand for the creation of the new regions.
