The Daily Heritage and the Ghanaian Times both touch on the issue of sanitation. The Daily Heritage is disturbed that while efforts are being made by city authorities to achieve a clean society and avert death related diseases such as cholera, malaria, some miscreants continue to litter the environment with reckless abandon. According to the paper, such people, after going round to collect the refuse, dispose of it in obscure corners instead of the refuse dump, just to avoid paying the fees charged by the refuse managers. The Heritage therefore wish to urge assembly members in communities battling this canker and residents to be vigilant and apprehend those in the habit of littering the environment through such unacceptable means.

The Ghanaian Times expresses concern over the lack of efficient waste management strategies for Accra. The paper says the sanitation problems in Accra keep growing from bad to worse. It says without modern ways of resolving such concern the city is likely to experience a major outbreak of diseases. The Times therefore has called on all city dwellers to commit themselves to President Akufo Addo's promise of making Accra the cleanest city.
