Spencer Smith: Triathlon Champion says ‘Ghana can make it’ Three times triathlon World Champion, Spencer Smith, says “Ghana can make it in triathlon in future; it’s only matter of time and a lot of hard work.” In an interview on GTV Sports+ Morning Show Studio 5, Spencer who is in Ghana to coach the Ghana Triathlon team for free said it’s an honor to give back to society after being given so much support as an athlete. According to him, Ghana has a long way to go in the sports and it’s possible to achieve a respectable place in the world through hard work. The former World Champion will witness the Kempiski Cowell Triathlon Race Series at the University of Ghana Legon on the 12 November 2017. There are two races on the day. The first race is the adult race where they will swim 600m, bike 20km and run 5km then in the afternoon the youth race for 8-12 yr and 13-17 years will take place and do 100m swim, 2.5km bike and 1.5 km and 300m swim, 5km bike and 2.5 km run respectively. Spencer Smith is highly decorated British athlete and had lots championships which includes ITU Junior World Championship in 1992 and World Championship in 1993 and 1994 respectively.
