Research indicates worrying trend of drug abuse

The Head of Addictive Diseases Unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Logosu Amegashie says parents and government need to urgently consider the increasing and alarming rate at which minors on the streets are taking alcohol and other harmful drugs.  

Mr. Amegashie told GBC’s George Ankrah that a recent research conducted into streetism indicate a worrying trend of drug abuse and addiction and must be tackled head on.

Mr. Amegashie also questioned the motivation of those advocating the decriminalisation of the use of marijuana.
