Beyoncé's formation hat sold for $27K at an auction

Beyonce and Pharrell raised a ton of money on Monday without having to do too much.

The singers donated some of their personal items to a Heritage Auction benefiting non-profit The Lung Transplant Project and raised almost $40,000.

It helped that the 36-year-old Texas native and the 44-year-old Happy hitmaker added their autographs to the items.

It is black with a wide brim,a tall top and a black ribbon.

Inside the brim Beyonce signed her name along with the note: 'All my Love.'

The item was anticipated to sell for between $1,000 and $2,000.

But after several bidders brought the number up over and over again, the final bidder plunked down $27,500, according to TMZ.

Pharrell also donated two pairs of adidas Originals.
