Hunger crisis in South Sudan worsens- Report The South Sudanese government, the United Nations and Aid agencies say the civil war in the country has worsened the hunger crisis. More than five million South Sudanese, about half the population are classified as severely food insecure. Reports say every year that the civil war rumbles on, the number of people in south Sudan facing famine increases. Millions survive on food aid and famine was reversed after the worst affected areas were targeted by huge international aid efforts.
