Teachers resolute on strike until gov't pays their salary arrears Teachers of Colleges of Education say they will not call off their strike until their demands are met. The teachers on Thursday embarked on a nationwide indefinite strike for non-payment of their salary arrears following the upgrade of the colleges into tertiary status. National Secretary of CETAG, Prince Obeng-Hemah, told Radio Ghana that per the ruling of the National Labour Commission, government should have paid the arrears more than two weeks ago. When Radio Ghana contacted the Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah on the matter, he said he did not have any answers and so could not grant any interviews.
