Police to probe telcos in mobile money fraud

The Cyber Crime Unit of the Police CID is to take up investigations into suggestions that some staff of Telcos engage in mobile money fraud. 

The Daily Graphic today (October 27), reported that MTN has sanctioned about three thousand of its staff for their roles in mobile Money fraud. This is coming at a time of growing concern, about safety of mobile money transactions. 

The Director, Cyber Crime Unit at the CID Headquarters, Chief Suprintendent Dr. Yankson told GBC’s Radio Ghana, that mobile money fraud, rank third on the list of cases reported to the Cyber Unit. 

On the average three cases are reported daily, a situation he described as worrying.
