Ghana out for Mali revenge 

The national U-17team, Black Starlets will face Mali in all African affair at the quarterfinals of the ongoing FIFA world Cup in India on Saturday.

Ghana beat off competition from Niger following a 2 nil at the round 16th stage to book a date with Mali in another destined African battle. The Black Starlets who have suffered two straight defeats in their last two games are hoping to rewrite the scripts at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.

With the odds against the two time champions, The Eagles led by Coach Jonas Kokou Komla will be relying on striker Lassana Ndiaye who is a joint top scorer with five goals in the tournament to kick out Ghana for a place at the semifinal.

A win for the Malians will not only guarantee them space at the next but will also complete their recent rise and dominance at the international stage after finishing second to Nigeria in the last year’s edition of the FIFA U-17 world cup and a gold medal in the 2017 Africa U-17 championship in Gabon.

In other game for the day, United States squares it off with England at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao. On Sunday, Spain will play against Iran at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium before the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata hosts the crunch game between Germany and Brazil.
