Thieves break into offices of Education Ministry in Upper East

Thieves have broken into some offices of the Ministry of Education in the Upper East region. 

GBC’s Upper East Regional Correspondent Dangmaa Felix Lambert reports that the thieves precisely broke into the Budget and Public Relations offices. 

The incident is suspected to have happened last night because personnel of the educational directorate were at post on Saturday afternoon.

Information gathered reveals that 8:45pm was the last time staff of the Upper East branch of the Ghana Education Service [GES] left their Ministry block.

The staff said they were at work so as to meet the deadline for submission of official documents pertaining to the current postings of teachers.

Sunday October 15 was supposed to be another busy day at work and to their dismay, some of their offices were broken into. 

The budget officer, Sanda Mohammed Imoro, was one of those affected. 

Meanwhile, the Upper East Regional PRO of GES, John Bobby, whose office was also broken into in an interview with Radio Ghana, said nothing was taken from his office. 

The incident has been reported to the police for investigations.
