Electrical wiring not certified by Energy Commission illegal

It is now illegal for any person to undertake electrical wirings if he is not certified by the Energy Commission.
 
This follows the full implementation of the Electrical Wiring Regulation 2011, L.I. 2008, as part of measures to reduce the incidence of electrical fires at homes and offices.

The Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko said this in an address read on his behalf at the inauguration of the Association of Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals in Accra.

He tasked the Energy Commission to strictly enforce the law.
