Brazil to define Spain’s WC fate

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi will host the much awaited game between Brazil and Spain in group D on Sunday. 

The Spanish side are making their 9th appearance and are determined to give their campaign a flying start against three time winners Brazil.

The La Rojita are making a return to the main campaign after missing out in the previous three editions are hoping to neutralize the voodoo that has prevented them from winning the trophy after finishing second on three occasions.

However, the Brazilians coached by Carlos Amadeu are aiming to take advantage of the absence of most successful country Nigeria  to win win the championship to underscore their pretournament tag slapped them even without star player Vinicius Junior.

Debutants Niger will slug it out with North Korea in the other group fixture.
