GES justifies decision to recall 51 sacked Prempeh College Students The Ghana Education Service has justified its decision to reverse an earlier decision by the authorities of Prempeh College to withdraw about 51 first year students who failed their promotional examination. The Acting Director General of the GES, Professor Kwesi Opoku Amankwa, told Radio Ghana that all the affected students are to be promoted while remedial measures are taken to support them. According to Professor Opoku Amankwa, repeating the students cannot help them in anyway if the root causes of their failure are not identified and addressed. Professor Opoku Amankwa also explained government's position on repetition of students in view of the free SHS policy. He said government is not encouraging wholesale promotion of students, as such those who failed their examinations cannot continue to enjoy the free SHS policy. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
