22nd September, 2017 The Daily Graphic discusses yesterday's celebration of Founders Day by the various political parties and other sympathising bodies. Both the CPP and the Kwame Nkrumah Pan African Center organised different activities to mark the day, while the NDC organised a solidarity match in some streets of Accra. The NPP on the other hand had a low key celebration. The paper reiterates the need for a national dialogue on the matter to arrive at a national consensus as the controversy over the Founder's day rages. The Daily Heritage also writes on the controversy surrounding Founder's Day. It says the arguments ongoing about who should be deemed the true founder or founders of Ghana are unnecessary for the development of the country. The paper urges government to rather focus on pragmatic policies to get Ghanaians out of poverty rather than trying to credit an individual or individuals for the attainment of Ghana's independence.
