US President Donald Trump has become the butt of jokes on social media after mispronouncing the name of a southern African country during a working luncheon with the continent’s leaders in New York.

“Nambia’s health system is increasingly sufficient,” Trump said in praise of the non-existent country, after earlier using the same mistaken pronunciation in his opening remarks.

While the White House later clarified that the president was in fact referring to Namibia, Twitter users were quick to pounce on the gaffe.
