Government determined not to pay RICS consult alleged $400,000 debt

Government says it will not pay a Sporting Consortium RICS Consult $400,000 [four hundred thousand dollars] for services rendered because there is no contract covering the deal.
 
This came to light at the Public Accounts Committee [PAC] sitting in Accra. 

The Ministry of Youth and Sports had bid for the hosting of the 2017 African Cup of Nations in 2014. 

The CEO of RICS consult, Rex Danquah had thrown in a bid through sole-sourcing to prepare the bid document for the Ministry.

The Ministry of Youths and Sports paid an initial amount of $125,000 to Rics Consult to start the process of the preparation of the bid document and after the execution of the said bid document an additional $68,000 was also paid. 

However, no contractual agreement was signed between the ministry and the company.

Mr. Danquah told the PAC that he is entitled to the money.
 
Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah however maintains government is ready for court over the issue.
