Editorial of the DAILY GRAPHIC believes making SSNIT viable is imperative to guaranteeing the future of pensioners. Therefore any concerns raised over the management of their funds should not be taken for granted. 

The paper says government has an obligation to release employee's contributions on time to enable managers of the trust to invest and earn interest to maintain the scheme. 

The GRAPHIC adds that managers of the scheme cannot escape blame for the high recurrent expenditures and the questionable investments. It prevails on workers and their employers especially government to ensure that they honor their obligations with the right amount paid regularly to the scheme. 

The TODAY News Paper says making corruption allegations against people in position of trust without any concrete evidence is unhealthy, citing especially the bribery allegations  against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff  by A- Plus. 

The Paper said such allegations against top officials should not happen again. 

The TODAY newspaper advises that even as efforts are being made to compliment governments efforts in combating corruption, care must be taken not to ruin the reputation of prominent individuals in society.


THE DAILY HERITAGE commends Black Stars Team B for their performance in the West Africa Football Union, (WAFU) tournament so far. 

The team is through to the semi finals despite their defeat  their Nigerian counterparts by 2 goals to nil last Monday. 

The paper believes the local Stars have demonstrated in all their matches that they have the qualities and talents to make Ghana proud. 

The paper however, calls on the players to avoid any form of complacency that could cost them to lose subsequent matches.
