‘Call to legalise wee in Ghana rejected’ The call by the Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Standards Authority, Prof Alex Dodoo that Marijuana popularly called Wee should be legalized has been rejected. A man of God, Rev. Dr. Dan Markin who challenged the suggestion said if care is not taken the youth would be endangered. Contributing to the discussions, the Executive Director of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB), Mike Addo said the position of the organization is not about legalizing marijuana, but decriminalizing it. He said imprisoning addicted persons, does not discourage the smoking or otherwise of Wee. Society should rather be vigilant and help prevent the youth from indulging in it. He told Radio Ghana that legalizing marijuana is a misnomer because the nation needs a lot of rehabilitation centres to assist the addicted who are committing crimes all over the country.
