Journalists schooled on ethical reporting on children

Journalists in the Upper West Region have been schooled on how to report ethically about children without further exposing them to any danger or harm.
 
This is necessary in to avoid violating the ethics of the profession and the rights of the children involved in the reportage.
 
The Communications Officer for the United Nations Children Fund, UNICEF organizers of the training, Offeibea Baddoo urged journalists to analyze every issue being reported and ensure, that only what is in the interest of the child is reported.
 
She appealed to the media to always report on children's issues with equity regardless of one's geographical location.
 
She intimated that equity based reporting will ensure the allocation of resources to where it is most needed, to help provide opportunities for children in those areas. 

Madam Baddoo called for priority to be given to issues affecting children especially those in the Upper West Region to attract the needed attention. 

The UNICEF knowledge Management Officer at the Tamale Office, Evelyn Ngaanuma, urged journalists to highlight the development gaps affecting women and children such as high poverty rate poor nutrition and inaccessible potable water.
