Fishmongers to receive 20 fibre insulated containers

Fishmongers in 12 communities are to receive 20 fibre insulated containers to keep their fish prior to processing it for the market. 

A Fisheries Specialist with USAID Sustainable Fisheries Management Project, Margaret Atikpo, says the donation is to complement efforts at addressing post-harvest loses due to contamination.  

The Minster of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, who received the containers, expressed her sector's appreciation.

The life span of the container is 25 years and subsequent consignments will be sold to fishmongers at a reduced price.
