Gov’t Orders Minerals Commission Boss, Tony Aubynn to Proceed On Leave

The Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, Dr.Toni Aubynn has been directed to proceed on leave by government.

Dr. Aubynn replaced Mr. Benjamin Aryee in 2014. 

He joined the Commission with tremendous knowledge and experience in the extractive industry in Ghana with more than twenty years of work in the sector. 

He was the CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines before moving to the minerals commission.

Prior to that, he was the Director of Corporate Affairs for Tullow Ghana Limited, operators of the Jubilee Oil Fields in Ghana. 

In a brief interaction with his staff, Dr Aubynn, urged them to give his successor their maximum cooperation and support.
 
It is however not clear who is likely to replace Dr. Aubynn at the commission.
