Give African youth opportunity to take leadership roles- Kofi Annan

Former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan says it is important that African countries harness the potential of their youth by giving them the opportunity to take up leadership roles.

He said the key to the African development agenda depends largely on the youth of the continent. 

He however advised the youth not to allow financial considerations to be their focus when they are given the opportunity as it could lead to corruption.

Mr. Kofi Annan was speaking at a fundraising event organised by Mfantisipim Old Boys Association, dubbed "MOBA Ebusuapanyin's Lunch" in Accra.
