Anlo Youth Council sues government over salt winning in Keta lagoon The Anlo Youth Council has sued government over the granting of a mining license to companies to win salt in the Keta Lagoon Complex. According to the Anlo Youth Council, “on a true and proper interpretation of Article 268 of the 1992 Constitution, the grant of a license by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and/or the Minerals Commission to companies or persons to exploit and win salt in the Keta Lagoon Complex without the approval or ratification by Parliament”, amounts to an unconstitutionality. Salt winning in communities along the Keta lagoon such as Adina has been a source of agitation for some residents. One of such agitations led to shooting to death of one Atsu Nkegbe, a 22 year old man earlier this year. GBCONLINE
