Curfew Imposed On Alavanyo & Nkonya Renewed The curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships has been renewed from 2000 hours to 0530 hours effective Sunday, August 13. That's according to Ministry of the Interior in a statement. A statement signed by the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, said the renewal of the curfew, is on the advice of the Volta Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument. The statement said government expressed appreciation to the chiefs, elders, opinion leader, youth and people of the area for their efforts in ensuring peace in the area. It further urged them to use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all their conflicts and disputes. Also, the ban on carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons in the two towns and its environs by all persons, is still enforce and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
