Police deploy more men to deal with wrongdoers The Police Administration has intensified Police presence at public places and social gatherings as a measure to combat crime in the country. The Service has also deployed more plain clothes Police personnel for intelligence gathering to assist the work of Combat Teams in communities. This came to light when the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery appeared before Parliament to answer a question asked by MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on what measures the Ministry is taking to combat insecurity and mob violence in Ghana. Responding to the question, Mr. Dery said, the Police is expected to deploy modern gadgets to facilitate arrest and prosecution of perpetrators of violence crime and mob justice . He added that, Police vigilance through vigorous Police patrol and regular snap checks at vantage points to check possession of illegal implements will be part of the plan. According to Mr. Dery, the Police shall not relent in its efforts to make Ghana safe for all. According to him, "beyond the Ghana Police Service, the Ministry is engaging stakeholders such as the National Peace Council, Security related NGOs, the Ministry of National Security, the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior and Security Experts among others in a bid to promote an integrated approach to curbing perceived insecurity and mob violence in the Country".
