BECE wahala

The inception of the Junior Secondary School now Junior High School, in 1980, consequently saw final year students write the Basic Education Certificate Examination. Annually, schools from districts across the ten regions participate in this all important examination which ushers successful JHS students into Senior High Schools. Unfortunately, the start of this examination causes inconvenience and disrupts teaching and learning in schools, designated BECE centers. Rachel Kakraba in the following report takes a look at this phenomenon.
