Mamfe - Accra - Koforidua road closed down The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Attah has announced the immediate closure of the Mamfe stretch of the Accra- Koforidua road. The road will be closed between 6am and 12 noon today 28th July 2017. The closure is to allow maintenance works to commence on a bridge that separates Tinkong and Nyamebekyere that caved in. Mr Amoako- Attah announced the closure after he has inspected the collapsed bridge. The Minister has therefore asked Commutters to use the Adukrom-Nkrakan or the Aburi - Nsawam - Suhum Road to Koforidua or Accra. The Koforidua- Mamfe stretch is a 30kilometre surfaced dressed road constructed some 25 years ago. Mr Amoako-Atta expressed worry over the deteriorated state of the road and blamed it on engineers who supervised the jobs. He threatened to terminate all ongoing road contracts that are not being constructed according to standard and warned that any engineer who supervises a shoddy work will be held accountable. GBCONLINE
