27th July, 2017 The Daily Graphic says agriculture for years now have been the lifeline to the country's economy despite the existence of mineral resources. The paper says there has been a decline in agriculture production for some time now due to the lack of incentives. The paper commends government for lunching the Planting for food and Job initiative and efforts by the Ministry for Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie to fighting the fall army worm invasion. According to the paper, more efforts must be made to increase yield and add value to the cocoa sector. The Graphic thinks exploring business opportunities, locally and abroad should not cease. The Daily Heritage thinks NADMO is gradually becoming toothless. It says the mission of NADMO is basically to manage disasters but current and past events in the country indicate that the organization is underperforming. According to the Heritage, disasters are inevitable but preparedness in anticipation determines the efficiency of disaster organisations. The Heritage says since loss of lives and properties to flooding have become an annual ritual, it is about time the government supported NADMO with adequate resources to function effectively.
