Students of one of the millennium city schools have been forced to squat for ICT lessons. 

The schools which were inaugurated three years ago to honour late President Mills has more than 20 computer sitting on the floors of the schools computer labs. 

Information available to Radio Ghana's Doreen Ampofo indicates that the furniture was taken by the assembly in November last year, promising to return them. 

However this has not been fulfilled, forcing pupils to either stand, squat or sit on the bare floor for ICT lessons.

The John D Mahama Basic School is one of three schools built under the Millennium schools project at Sempe, a cardinal point in the city of Accra.

With more than 800 students, the school was provided with state of the art computer library with about 25 computers. 

It was therefore surprising to see that the computers had been left on the bare floors. 

The students say they are made to stand or squat for ICT lessons.

Government has the strongest indication to ensure an ICT-driven educational system that constantly responds to the challenges and evolution of modern science and technology. 

However, this may become a mirage if computers intended to give the students what they need to excel in ICT are left on the floor while students stand or stand for ICT lesson.
