Two Feared Dead Following Heavy Rains In Tamale Two persons feared died while thousands have been displacement following hours of torrential rains on Tuesday in parts of the Northern Region. Schools and hospitals have been submerged by the flooding, that's according to reports. Some of the communities said to be severely affected are Dohinayile, Jakarayili, Fou, Taha, and Sawaba. One of the two persons who died in the heavy downpour has been identified as a 59-year-old Hajia Fati Bapuni, was reported to be on her way to pick her child from school when she met her untimely death. Fati Bapuni, was washed away by the strong current of the floods on her arrival at the Gariba Lodge Main Gutter area, the report said. The other deceased person is yet to be identified. According to reports, the flooding situation in the Tamale Metropolitan Area and the Sagnarigu districts are perennial. Choked drains and building on waterways are some of the root causes which requires immediate action. Meanwhile, the President has constituted a government delegation to visit the affected area and report back for action to be taken. GBC
