The Ghanaian Times Notes that many streets lights in Accra including the Achimota- Amasaman road and Abossey-Okai-Korle-Bu Mortuary roads have been malfunctioning for a long time. The paper says streets light provides safety and security which can prevent crime in the country. It adds that unvailabily of street lights serve as cover for criminals to rob in darkness. The Ghanaian Times therefore urges government through the Department of Urban Roads as well as the Electricity company of Ghana,  Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, MMDAS, to light up the streets.

Daily Heritage eulogizes the legendary highlife musician, Paapa Yankson who passed on lastweek. To the paper the 73 year old legend's mark in the Ghananian music industry is one that would last a lifetime. The paper say Paapa Yankson's love for music was evident in his performance at the Bottles and Band Festival last year where he performed in a wheel chair. The paper says it was therefore not surprising that Paapa Yankson was honoured at this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. In the view of the paper, the award was not only befitting, but a celebration of a legend whilst alive. 

The Daily Graphic call for reforms in the lands administration in Ghana. The paper says though successive governments have tried several reforms in the land sector with support from the world bank, the situation still leaves much to be desired. It notes that the bureaucracy associated with land acquisition and registration encourages abuse in the system. The paper is worried that as a result of the bottlenecks in the system, unscrupulous person are cutting corners to promote land litigation throughout the country. The Daily Graphic suggest that all stakeholders must join hands to end the confusion in the sale of land.
