Gap between rich and poor widens- UNICEF study A UNICEF survey has shown a wide gap in consumption levels between the rich and the poor with the Upper West region gaining the highest levels of hunger and poverty in the last decade. The findings according to SEND Ghana expose the social protection inequalities between urban and rural communities. SEND Ghana says the country cannot claim to have reduced hunger and poverty when statistics show that budget planning and fund disbursement are not consistent with the objectives of reducing poverty and inequalities among the haves and the have nots. This was the outcome of a discussion on financing social protecting programmes in Accra. GBCONLINE
