Asante Kotoko Deputy Equipment Officer Kofi Asare confirmed dead In Fatal Accident


The Assistant Equipment Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kofi Asare, has been confirmed dead in a fatal accident on Wednesday night at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region. 

The Kotoko players and officials were travelling from Accra to Kumasi after Wednesday’s match day 22 Premier League fixture when then accident occurred.

The accident occurred around 9:45pm when the team bus ran into a stationary vehicle.  That's according to the management of the club on its website.

According to the management, personnel on the bus are generally fine. However, some are receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw. 

"With great difficulty, Management is entreating supporters of the club and the general public to stay calm and pray for our personnel." 

Meanwhile, management of the club said a full statement on the incident will be issued in due course.
