Three boys drown in stream  

Three teenage boys have drowned in a stream at Okom, a farming community in the Akwapim North district of the Eastern Region. 

GBC24’s Abdul Hayi Moomen, reports that for hours, community members stood helplessly as the boys drowned. 

Some of those who could swim avoided the stream making it impossible for rescue work to take place. 

The reason being that there is a belief among some of the people in the area that the stream needs human sacrifices at this time of the year.
