‘I will be willing to work in current government’ - Hassan Ayariga

Leader and Founder of the All People’s Congress APC, Hassan Ayariga, says he will be willing to work in the current government if he is offered the opportunity to do so for the benefit of Ghana.

He said the all-inclusive government which is being practiced currently is inimical to development.

At a media briefing  in Accra, Mr Ayariga said there are a lot of Ghanaians with relevant skills to help move the economy  forward but because they belong to a particular party their expertise are ignored.

Mr Ayariga said the NPP government should ensure that all the promises it made to the people of Ghana are fulfilled.

He said Ghanaians will not be spectators but citizens and will applaud where it is due and criticises constructively when it must be done.

On the appointment of PNC leader Dr Edward Mahama as Ambassador at Large by President Akufo-Addo, Mr Ayariga said the appointment is insignificant.

He criticised the PNC leader for not consulting the PNC leadership before accepting the position. 

Mr Ayariga said the APC will never merge with the PNC but rather will swallow all the PNC members into APC.
 
Mr Ayariga also criticised the Electoral Commission for not explaining to the APC the reasons for its disqualification in the 2016 elections.
