Ghana’s Rebecca Asamoah places 2nd at Miss UN

Twenty-five year-old Ghanaian beauty queen, Rebecca Asamoah, was crowned first runner-up at the 2017 edition of Miss United Nations international pageant held in Kingston Jamaica over the weekend.

She is the first Ghanaian queen to represent her country on the Miss United Nations stage.

She beat several other contestants from different countries to come close to winning the ultimate crown which went to Olga Makhlevskaia from Russia.

Mexican queen, Irais Carbajal, also took the second runner-up position at the Saturday night event.

Its Rebecca’s third win in three years after she was earlier crowned Miss Ghana 2015 runner up and winner of Miss Africa Continent in South Africa.

She is the first Ghanaian queen to represent her country on the Miss United Nations stage.

Over 80 contestants from around the world took part in the Saturday pageant in Jamaica.

But Russia was adjudged winner at the end while Ghana and Mexico took the first and second runners-up positions respectively.
