President Akufo-Addo Charges New Ambassadors & High Commissioners To Uphold Ghana's Image  

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has charged newly commissioned Ambassadors and High Commissioners to guard jealously the image of Ghana in their respective duty post. 

Speaking at the swearing in of 22 Ambassadors and High Commissioners, President Akufo-Addo tasked them to deepen the already cordial relations between Ghana and their respective country and explore opportunities to the benefits of the Ghanaian people. 

They Ambassadors include the 2016 presidential candidate of the PNC Dr. Edward Mahama who has been commissioned as Ambassador at Large known in diplomatic circles as roaming Ambassador.  

This is the second batch of ambassadors to be commissioned by the president after the first batch of eight was dispatched. 

They include big names like former Attorney General Ayikoi Otoo who has been dispatched to Canada, Sheikh TB Damba Saudi Arabia, George Ayisi Boateng- Saudi Arabia, professor Abena Busia- Brazil and Sophia Honer Sam and Dr. Edward Mahama who is the Ambassador at Large. 

They took the oaths of office secrecy and allegiance and were later given the instrument of appointment. 

President Akufo-Addo reminded them of their responsibility of preserving and promoting the image of the country’s high reputation.

President Akufo Addo tasked the Ambassadors to explore areas of trade and bring investors to the country.

On behalf of his colleagues, Ghana’s Ambassador to Canada Ayikoi Otoo thanked the President for reposing confidence in them. 

They promised to work assiduously to lift the image of the country.
