NSS Postings: Only persons with health problems, newly weds can make changes Only persons with health problems, fresh couples can make changes to postings - NSS The National Service Secretariat has released the 2017-2018 Service Postings deploying 91,871 personnel for service. To give a boost to the President's Planting for Food and Jobs programme, 2,160 have been deployed to the agricultural sector. The Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Usiff Mustapha said this when he announced the release of the postings in Accra. Under the mandate of the National Service Act of 1980, Act 426, national service personnel are deployed every year to various sectors of the economy to offer service in support of the country. For the 2017-2018 service years, personnel have been deployed to the agricultural sector, health, education, administrative support, urban traffic management and urban sanitation improvement. For this year's postings over 70,000 personnel were deployed to the public sector with the private sector taking more than 14,000. The Executive Director, Usiff Mustapha said the Greater Accra Region took the greatest number of personnel with the Ashanti region having the second highest. The Executive Director said personnel can assess and print their appointment letters from next week Wednesday. He said personnel can also check their postings on short code *714*77# on all networks. He said for this year's posting, personnel will need to show their student ID card and any national ID except the National Health Insurance ID. Mr Mustapha urged all prospective service personnel to take up their postings to any part of the country as part of their civic responsibility to the country. He said the scheme will not change postings for any personnel except those with acute health problem or disability and those who have just married. GBC
