It supports the call by the Minority in Parliament for thorough investigation into the disaster and make the findings public. It asks that pre cautionary measures be taken to prevent further occurrences. The Ghanaian Times is disturbed about the repulsive behaviour of military personnel who brutalised a civilian in Takoradi. The paper says the military is a disciplined institution that promotes sanity and order and it is wrong for any group of soldiers no matter the provocation to take the law into their hands. It says anybody who is improperly treated must report to the police and where necessary the judicial arm of government may be invoked to pursue justice. The paper urges the superior officers to immediately investigate the matter and seek justice for the abused civilian. The Today Newspaper says it’s becoming increasingly clear that the politics of winner-takes-all is aggravating the divisions of society. It says elsewhere there is proportional representation that offers every political party a share of parliamentary and ministerial portfolios which is a scenario Ghana has never worked with before. The paper believes the country has an opportunity to revisit the work of the Constitutional Review Committee to carry out reforms which will reflect the aspirations and mood of the people. GBC
