Former GJA General Secretary, Bright Blewu's mother laid to rest The mortal remains of Mrs Alice Afia Blewu, mother of the former General Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association was on Saturday interred at the Effia cemetery in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly of the Western Region. Mrs Blewu, who died at the age of 82, was a woman who dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity. Reverend Mrs Comfort Afele, Moderator of the Western and Central presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian described the deceased as a strong pillar in establishing the Church and other branches of the church. The late Alice Afia Blewu was a woman of virtue who committed her life to evangelism and establishing of churches in Beposo and Shama district. A tribute read by Mr Bright Blewu, former Genral Secretary of the GJA reminisced how his mother's Godly living influenced their lives later in life adding, “Your all hands on deck approach taught us what it takes to be united". Mr. Affail Monney, President of the GJA on behalf of the Ghanaian media expressed the association’s heart-felt sympathy to the family for such a great lost. The funeral was attended by high profile of media gurus such as Ambassador Kabral Blay Amihere, former boss of the media commission, Dr Doris Dartey, communication consultant, Mr Matthew Mac-Kwame, Mrs Yaa Oforiwaa Peasah, Head of Editorial of the Ghana News Agency and Mr Mawusi Afele, former Acting General Manager of the Ghana News Agency among others.
