Curfew renewed in Bunkprugu Township

The Minister for the Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours imposed on the Bunkpurugu Township from 8:00pm to 6:00am, effective today Tuesday 21st February, 2017. 

A statement signed by the Sector Minister, Ambrose Dery, says government appreciates the Chiefs, Elders, opinion leaders, youth and people of these areas for exercising restraint in the face of challenges confronting them. 

It encourages them to use nonviolent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.
 
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons. 

Any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
