Martin Amidu withdraws suit against Woyome The Supreme Court has dismissed and struck out the application by former Attorney General Martin Amidu to cross-examine businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome. This was after Mr Amidu prayed the court to withdraw the case since there is a new government and a new Attorney General in place. He said it will be better to leave the case in the hands of the new government to resolve. Lawyer for Mr Woyome, Ken Anku did not raise any objection. He said his client couldn't appear in court because he has lost his mother. The Sole Judge, Justice Anin Yeboah asked if Mr Amidu wants the liberty to come back to review the case, but Mr Amidu answered that even if he will come back it will depend on the application he will bring to court. The chief state Attorney, Dorothy Afriyie Ansah also did not object to Mr Amidu's request. Mr Amidu has been in court with Woyome in an attempt to retrieve the GH¢51.2 million judgement debt paid to the businessman by the state. Meanwhile, the Court has scheduled 26th of April to give Judgement on the two Guantanamo bay detainees in the country. GBC
